SPARK 8.2.6 Release Notes
The SPARK 8.2.6 release is planned for Saturday, March 21st. This update includes support for 2025 Tax Forms in Document Analysis and improvements to Applicant-facing Debt Schedules. The maintenance window will occur from 11:00 PM CT on Saturday, March 21st through 9:00 AM CT on Sunday, March 22nd.
What's New
Strategies
We've added support for two new strategies that can be used for document placeholder and task generation:
Owner's Equity: Applies to any Owner's Equity source of funds on a package
Any Individual Obligor: Applies to any individual borrower or guarantor on a package
What's Changed
2025 Tax Forms in Document Analysis
1040 Schedule C, 1065, 1065 K-1, 1120, and 1120-S forms are now supported in Document Analysis for tax year 2025.
Tax Guard Ordering Flow Improvements
We made some improvements to better handle the edge case when an error is encountered when placing a Tax Guard order.
If an error is encountered when placing a Tax Guard order, the Applicant can still upload their signed Form 8821 and submit the task.
The task status moves to Rejected.
The task owner is notified, and the error detail is displayed on the task.
Stage Selection for Automated Packages
Lenders can now select the stage when creating an automated package (e.g., Lead or Intake), consistent with manual package creation. The stage defaults to the first chronological stage.
Closing Dates in Task Lists
'Estimated Closing Date' and 'Actual Closing Date' are now available as columns on Personal Dashboard Task Lists.
Debt Schedule Improvements for External Users
Business and Personal debt schedule activities are now easier for external users to complete within Information Requests, using a mobile-friendly UI consistent with the Personal Financial Statement experience.
Debt Schedule Improvements for Internal Users
Column order and badge styling have been refined in the Debt Schedule list.
"View More Details" in the more menu has been renamed to "Edit >".
In the debt entry details panel, actions are now consolidated to Save, Save & Add Another, and Cancel.
Task Types Filter for Dashboard Task Lists
A Task Types filter has been added to Personal Dashboard Task Lists, with all task types included by default.
Task Detail Panel
When viewing Task details, "Status" has been updated to "Task Status" and "Verified?" has been updated to "Document Verification Status" for clarity.
Financial History Column in Individuals List
When a PFS is complete, the completion as-of date is now displayed in the Individuals List.
Dashboards
The term "Units" has been replaced with "Packages" across all dashboards.
What's Been Fixed
Financial Analysis - 12-Month Cash Flow Header Visibility: Fixed an issue where the 12-Month Cash Flow header was still printed in Financial Analysis outputs even when the section was configured to be hidden. This was included in a hotfix.
Equity Tracking - Companion Packages: Fixed an issue where equity tracking on companion packages incorrectly displayed equity from all packages within the companion group instead of the relevant package. This was included in a hotfix.
Performance Improvements: Continued performance-related improvements across several areas of the application to improve page load times and overall responsiveness. This was included in a hotfix and something we are continuing to monitor.
Default Order for Email Notifications: Fixed an issue where the email notification list was not consistently ordered by most recent activity. Notifications are now sorted by Date Sent (descending) by default so the latest notifications appear first.
Docusign Integration - Certificate of Completion Downloads: Fixed an issue where Certificates of Completion and related Docusign documents were not consistently downloaded. The integration now relies on Docusign refresh tokens (30-day lifetime) instead of short-lived user authentication tokens (8-hour lifetime), improving reliability of the Certificate of Completion import.
Authorization to File Financing Statements - Primary Contact Requirement: Fixed an issue where the Authorization to File Financing Statements document generation failed when a primary contact was not assigned to the package.
Notes - Add Note Button in Side Panel: Fixed an issue where the Add Note button in the Notes side panel did not create a new note as expected.
NAICS Code Persistence on Automated Packages: Fixed an issue where the NAICS code would intermittently fail to save for businesses when the package and businesses were created through the automated package workflow.
Task Descriptions for Non-Document Tasks: Fixed an issue where SPARK automatically defaulted the task description to the Task Type name for tasks that were not Document task types. Non-document tasks will no longer populate the description field by default.
