SPARK 8.2.9 Release Notes
The SPARK 8.2.9 release is planned for Saturday, September 12th. This update adds a new Reg B calendar-day underwriting metric to the reporting API and extends webhook events to referred packages. The maintenance window will occur from 11:00 PM CT on Saturday, September 12th through 9:00 AM CT on Sunday, September 13th.
In Case You Missed It
Portfolio Management is now available in SPARK! This new module provides a dedicated workspace for tasks, annual reviews, and servicing requests, connected to your origination data so nothing needs to be rekeyed or re-entered.

What Changed
Calendar Day Underwriting Duration in the Reporting API
The reporting API now returns a new field, UnderwritingCalendarDays, that measures underwriting duration in calendar days, alongside the existing business-day field. This gives lenders a Reg B calendar-day underwriting duration directly from the API.
The value counts every elapsed calendar day, including weekends and holidays, from the date a package is accepted into underwriting until it exits underwriting. Packages still in underwriting count through the current date.
Days a package spent on hold inside underwriting are excluded, matching how the existing business-day figure treats on-hold time.
Webhook Events for Referred Packages
Referred packages now generate webhook events using the same event model and delivery behavior as all other package types in SPARK.
Events fire when a package is submitted as a referral and when a referred package is updated after submission.
Payloads include the package identifier and the core package data needed to retrieve the updated record through existing API endpoints.
Customers with existing webhook subscriptions receive referred package events automatically.
Support Ticket Submission for Partner Users
Partner Users no longer have access to the support ticket submission option in SPARK. The help (?) icon remains available to Partner Users and continues to provide access to the knowledge base and release notes.
Configurable Monitoring Type for Tax Guard
A new Monitoring Type setting for the Tax Guard integration lets SPARK administrators choose the monitoring cadence SPARK sends with each client request.
The available options are None, Weekly, Monthly, Semi-Monthly, and Income. Most institutions will use None or Income.
This is an instance-wide setting to match your Tax Guard configuration.
What's Been Fixed
Decision Tracking Permission Issue: Fixed an issue where decision request reviewers received a permissions error when attempting to approve decision requests. This was included in a hotfix.
Credit Reports - Provider Error Messages: Fixed an issue where an error returned by a credit provider was shown only as a generic message about required fields. SPARK now shows the detail the provider sent back, for every credit provider. This was resolved in a hotfix.
E-Tran - Final Submission with Collateral Conditions: Fixed an issue where a collateral record whose SBA condition had been saved incorrectly caused an error when attempting to submit to E-Tran. This was included in a hotfix.
E-Tran - Date Values on Submission: Fixed an issue where valid dates were rejected as invalid when submitting to E-Tran, following a change on the E-Tran side. This covered the collateral valuation date, note date, date of lease and contract date, the external credit score date, and the standby agreement payment begin date. This was included in a hotfix.
Project Accounting - PDF Uploads: Fixed an issue where a PDF was rejected as an invalid file type when its file extension was uppercase, which had been blocking good faith deposit uploads. This was included in a hotfix.
Financial Analysis - Sub-Account Action Menu: Fixed an issue where clicking the arrow on a sub account row often started reordering the row instead of opening its action menu, which made it hard to add a comment or delete the sub-account. This was included in a hotfix.
Financial Analysis - Enter Key While Editing: Fixed an issue where pressing Enter while editing a value did not move down to the next row in the same column.
Financial Analysis - Period Order: Fixed an issue where the periods on an analysis could not be put back into chronological order.
Credit Memos - Customized Debt Schedule Sections: Fixed an issue where a credit memo built on a customized business debt schedule section opened blank. The origination date and maturity date were also restored to the affected templates. This was included in a hotfix.
Credit Memos - Estimated Maturity Date: Fixed an issue where the Loan Terms section of a credit memo showed an invalid estimated maturity date on a package with no closing date, while the estimated closing date beside it was correctly blank. The maturity date is now left blank until there is a closing date
Decision Tracking - Long Commentary: Fixed an issue where long words or links entered in the commentary on a decision request ran outside their container on the Decision Tracking page. This was included in a hotfix.
Collateral - Question Mark Symbols in Descriptions: Fixed an issue where question mark symbols appeared in collateral descriptions and in the collateral drop down.
Document Analysis - Business Name on a Matched Business: Fixed an issue where a tax return analysis could not be completed when the business name could not be read from the return, even though the business was already matched and the name was not changing.
Sources and Uses - Guaranty Fee on Automated Packages: Fixed an issue where the placeholder guaranty fee amount stayed in the Sources and Uses table after an automated package was converted to a package, even though the correct fee had already been calculated from the terms entered.
Electronic Signatures - Warning After a Successful Send: Fixed an issue where sending a signature request whose documents came from a Docusign template showed "The requested information could not be found." alongside the success message, which made a successful send look like it had failed.
Loan Terms - Payment on a Fixed Rate Loan with No Rate: Fixed an issue where a fixed rate loan with no rate entered yet still showed a monthly payment amount on the Package Summary, next to a blank interest rate. The amount was the loan amount divided by the number of periods, because the missing rate was treated as zero. No payment is calculated now until a rate is entered.
Background Stability Improvements: Resolved several internal errors that were being logged in the background across disbursements, information requests, project accounting invoices, personal financial statements, notes, decision tracking, document search, package stage dates, and scheduled background processing. These did not always surface to users but were cleaned up to keep error logs and downstream processes healthy.
