SPARK AI Narrative Generation Update
On Tuesday, October 13 at 11:00 PM CDT, SPARK will move SPARK - AI Narrative Generation from the Claude Sonnet 4 AI model to Claude Sonnet 4.6. Claude Sonnet 4 is being retired, so every product built on it must move to a newer model. Claude Sonnet 4.6 is the newer model in the same family.
What this means in SPARK
Along with the new model, we are updating the two global prompts that AI Narrative Generation uses. A global prompt is the standing set of rules the AI follows every time it writes. It covers how to format the writing and how to handle facts. One global prompt covers the business description, management, operations, industry analysis and franchise analysis narratives. The other covers financial analysis. We updated both so the newer model keeps producing narratives in the format you're used to.
The rules that keep narratives accurate have not changed. The AI uses only facts it can support from a source or from documents you provide, and it never makes up names, dates or figures. Financial analysis still never makes or implies a lending decision.
The prompts for each narrative type, which tell the AI what to cover in that section, are not changing. That includes any prompts customized for your institution. Your data continues to be processed within Amazon Web Services in the United States and is not used to train AI models.
What you should know
You don't need to do anything. AI Narrative Generation works the same way, including Guide the Narrative and uploaded documents. Narratives should look much like they do today, although wording may differ slightly because a newer model writes a little differently. As always, every narrative is a draft for you to review before it goes into your credit memo.
If a narrative or financial analysis doesn't look right after the update, submit a ticket to the SPARK Support Team. Include the package name, the narrative type and what looked wrong.
